Description

Redesigned the home page layout to make it more pleasant to read.

Fixes #42

Changes

• Removed the duplicate "Everse" text that appeared next to the "Everse" svg logo
• Update the sticky navigation background color to separate it visually from the rest of the page
• Increased the navigation text contrast for L1 and L2 menus
• Combined the header texts and image into a hero slide with a simple tag, bold headline, and a subheadline
• Adjusted the design of the alert and added a subtle animation to the bell icon to direct attention to it
• Created a two column layout for the body text
• Added some additional text to the overview to give a quick explanation of the project
• Updated the look of the cards
• Fixed minor grammar issues (incl. on Work Packages index)

Tested

• Light and dark theme
• Desktop and mobile size

Further refinements to be done:

• Update the project to use latest Hugo version
• Reduce image sizes to improve loading speed (especially the hero code image, 2MB+)
• Improve the look of logos on dark theme (to discuss solutions)
• Add interest to the hero slide (to discuss need)
• Check and improve all pages if necessary

Who am I to contribute?

My name is Ivan Raszl, and I'm a developer / designer / product person. I'm applying for this job, and I figured I could demonstrate my work by helping out on this project by proposing a PR for an existing issue. If you don't need this work, no worries!
