Get Recently Sent Emails

Hi! I was wondering if it is at all possible to get a user's recently sent emails upon extension injection? I know the functionality is not currently built into gmail.js, but if its possible, I'm happy to work on trying to build it in! Let me know if you have any thoughts / recommended starting places.
