What new functionality do you need?

The current GCAFS doesn't generate the aerosol tracer analysis on Gaussian grids or aerosol AOD analysis products in grib2 format. The AOD analysis needs to be processed from aerosol tracer fields using UPP. These tasks will be implemented within the analcalc and atmanlupp tasks.

Acceptance Criteria

  • analcalc and atmanlupp task complete successfully
  • File {COMROOT}/model/atmos/master/gcdas.txxz.master.analysis.grib2 with anl AOTK variables produced.
  • File {COMROOT}/analysis/atmos/gcdas.txxz.analysis.atm.a006.nc is updated with tracer analysis.

Suggest a solution (optional)

  1. Calculate Gaussian aerosol tracer analysis by adding the aerosol background (atm.f006.nc) and increments (aeroinc.nc), and save the tracer analysis to analysis.atm.a006.nc, which could be performed in the analcalc task.
  2. Process aerosol analysis to grib2 format in atmanlupp task using a new upp configuration file for GCAFS/GCDAS: upp_gcafs.yaml
