unable to log in with as regular user #8

I created a new local account (non admin) then tried to login with that account. After a very brief delay I was returned to the login screen. New admin accounts could login, but regular accounts could not.

A reply here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/user-account-immediately-logged-off-after-entering/36d98832-5313-4b14-a63a-e919dcd201d2 had me checking my
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon/UserInit key, the contents of which were C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,ConfigurableShell.exe

Removing ,ConfigurableShell.exe allowed the regular accounts to login.

At some point in the past I had tried ConfigurableShell. It was a while ago so I don't recall the particulars. Either the uninstall left some stuff behind (if there was one) or I was insufficient in my attempts to remove it manually.

I'd also be concerned about the possibility that a regular user would be unable to login even if ConfigurableShell was actually still installed.

I guess double check that it works for regular users, and/or that said registry entry is removed on uninstall, so as not to prevet regular users from logging in.
