To be precise, the crash message appears in Firefox, not in SEB. This has been the case since many SEB/Firefox versions. The reason is, that SEB has to stop for example web-based video/audio conferencing or remote desktop/screen sharing in Firefox and other web browsers. Currently SEB terminates specific helper processes of these browsers (in case of Firefox "plugin-container"). This has the advantage that the browsers itself don't need to be quit, which was quite unpopular when some SEB versions were doing that. Depending on settings, users could lose open tabs or even text entered in browser windows. The latter might also happen in case of the browser tab crash in Firefox, don't know this. You could add Firefox itself (or any other web browser) as a prohibited process (don't use the "Force quit" option!). I'm still reluctant to change the current prohibited processes and add all web browsers (besides that this would be a lot of work because of the seemingly hundreds of Chrome-clone browsers). What I'm planing in the next SEB release is to add the feature "Quit all running applications" (which SEB Verificator for macOS already has) as a default option in SEB for macOS. This would be more secure than adding only specific apps as preset default prohibited processes. Btw. when using the AAC Assessment Mode instead of SEB's own kiosk mode, it's not necessary to terminate web browsers etc. because in AAC they don't have internet access. So with AAC the tab crash message in Firefox should not appear. |

Testing SEB-Client-Version Beta macOS-3.6rc
on MacBook Air with Monterey 12.7.6 and MacBook Pro with Sequoia 15.6.1
Moodle-Quiz with TinyMCE
Moodle-Quiz with and without additional tools (websites, linked PDFs, SWITCHdrive)
Duration Moodle-Quiz: 30min
Result: No essential obstacles or errors detected (Although when using MacBook Air with Monterey 12.7.6, a crash message appears briefly when starting the SEB, see video. This is not a big deal, but it does not inspire confidence…)
