Using TypeScript

This is a collected list of pros and cons associated with using TypeScript, as opposed to JavaScript.

Pros:

• Adds type support (improves readability, reduces possibility of runtime errors, refactoring is simplified)
• Better reporting of errors and warnings (not just related to types)
• Improved IDE functionality
• Overall improved readability (speeds up onboarding)

Cons:

• Slower compile times (transpilation)
• Build/compilation errors can be ambiguous

There also does seem to be a general consensus that it is unheard of anyone who transitions to TS going back to JS. Thoughts?
