And also, it depends on your target trader.
Even if your target made much profit, you might lose your money.
It means that the target is not fit to copy.

Order management, orderType, and target are the key aspects in copy trading.

Got your point — but as always, the devil is in the details.

While orderType, target, and basic mirroring form the backbone of any copy trading bot, making it actually work in production is a whole different thing.

You need latency-optimized execution to minimize follower slippage, plus per-account risk management like position sizing, max exposure limits, trailing controls, etc.

Also, blind copying is dangerous. Strategy filtering — based on PnL stability, sharpe ratio, or even behavioral heuristics — becomes critical if you want to scale without bleeding capital.

At the surface, building a copy bot is straightforward. But scaling it profitably, while maintaining fidelity to the lead trader and preserving risk constraints across a fleet of followers — that’s where the engineering challenge really lives.

Polymarket operates on a hybrid infrastructure, distinguishing it from platforms like Solana and other typical crypto trading venues. While latency optimization is valuable in many trading strategies, it’s not the central concern here due to the architecture Polymarket uses.

A key difference is in order types: both market and limit orders on Polymarket function differently compared to traditional platforms. The central limit order book (CLOB) is managed off-chain, which means we cannot directly monitor the status of specific traders’ orders in real time. Because of this, precisely mirroring another trader’s position with minimal slippage requires skillfully combining market and limit orders.

Moreover, metrics like the Sharpe ratio and other quantitative factors are important when selecting targets for copy trading. However, the real edge comes from exercising patience and carefully analyzing which trader to follow—this is ultimately more critical to long-term success than simply building a copy trading bot. Developing the discipline and judgment to identify the right targets is paramount in the Polymarket environment.

thanks for the answer! though i ran into problem that it just doesnt see target wallet's trades apparently, it's just stuck on looking for new transactions, ive tried to set too-old-timestamp to behind my target wallet's last trade and it is still stuck on looking for new transactions, i know the issue sounds quite broad but what could be the reason for this? again thanks for the answer.
