Installation from Source fails with Linker error

I am trying to install onedrive version 2.5.8 on Kubuntu 24.04. I am using dmd-2.110.

When running make command for building, I get an error. I have added the output of serval commands below.

These are the errors from the output:

How can I get more information to fix the problem and successfully install the software?

I previously was using version 2.5.6.

You are missing dependencies. Please install all of the correct dependencies for your distribution.

My advice however is, you do not manually compile for your platform, but you install using the OpenSuSE Build Service repository as per the advice.

Yes, I am activating the "environment" (I guess it is the same as for python or similar).
You can see it in the output for make: dmd-2.110.0. I have now updated to dmd-2.111.0 and also activated it, but it is the same problem.

I now understand why I was confused by the line of the error. The line with the if-else construct escapes the newlines. And so the actual line is the one with $(DC) -J. $(GUI_NOTIFICATIONS) $(DCFLAGS) $^ $(addprefix $(LINKER_DCFLAG),$(all_libs)) $(OUTPUT_DCFLAG)$@

It seems I have solved the problem now. The problem was an invalid symlink to a compiler (cc symlink to a clang file) that doesn't seem to exist anymore on my system. I have changed it to use gcc instead. Now I don't get any build errors anymore.

This must be something totally environmental to your platform

There is zero issue in cloning, building or running the application when the correct dependencies + compiler are installed and activated.

A tip: Ensure you keep your platform up-to-date the correct way:

Use this script as 'root' to ensure your system is up-to-date in the correct manner.

It is environmental to my local install. I guess I removed the clang compiler at some point but didn't also fix the symlink for cc to gcc again.

Please also ensure if you are building the client, you use v2.5.9 and not v2.5.8

There are 2 critical bugs in v2.5.8

1. A high CPU bug when using --upload-only
2. Online deletion of empty directories, in shared folders when using --resync (this was a v2.5.7 bug, not seen or raised before v2.5.8 was released hours earlier)
