stutter / pause after keypress even in normal mode

While typing or simply cursoring around if I stop for a second and then try to move again I get about a 1 second pause and then the cursor will move or letter will be typed. If you keep typing quickly or cursoring quickly it won't pause. Something is running after keypress with a delay of about a second. Interestingly if I'm cursoring around whitespace it does not appear to do it.

If I switch major mode to text-mode it stops.

I'm expecting this to be more of an issue with one of the packages this layer uses or a local configuration problem so any advice on how to track this down would be appreciated as it's very frustrating to use as it currently stands.

Looks like go-eldoc is causing it.

Also realised this repo is just a copy of the layer and the actual layer is in the spacemacs source code so closing this issue.
