You write ""GND to DMX is not necessary" but this necessary to power XLR1
DE to 3.3V ... so if board used for Receiver then RE used instead DE?

For anyone interested:
I just discover this library and I will try it tomorrow with the same hardware the author suggests for tests. But if it works, certainly I will use a different converter for production, because the best practice is to completely isolate the 5v part from the DMX circuit. It is DANGEROUS not to do that.

My suggestion: use an optoisolated board like this:
