Is Windows7 supported?

I noticed that version 1.10 (17 march 2024) seems to work on Windows7.
v1.10.4 (23 april 2024) starts but it doesn't work (as soon as you press any button, it becomes unresponsive).
All the following releases crash immediately on startup.

Is Windows10+ required?

I have to confess that I have no idea, I replaced Windows 7 long ago with either Linux (Debian) or Windows 10/11 depending on the hardware.
If it no longer works on W7 it's certainly not intentional on my part, but it's possible that the current Rust compilers and libraries have dropped Windows 7 support.

I checked, Rust officially dropped Windows 7 support with Rust 1.77. The last Rust version that supported Windows 7 was 1.76 (February 2024).
It may still be possible to cross compile for Windows 7 but without any support (or testing) from the Rust side.

I'll take the opportunity to repeat here one of my favorite arguments...

Win7 is said to have a 2% share, but that's largely underestimated. There are a lot of professionals (including myself, especially in audio and photography) who cannot upgrade to win10, since they either use a software or driver that won't work, or they require a totally stable and reliable system (occasionally win10 updates may be disruptive).
So they "froze" a Win7 PC for the purpose. As they don't surf the web, they also don't show up in the official statistics (which are generally based on http user agents). They are a "silent majority".

So it's sad that developers drop support for Win7. I know that the "ecosystem" drives you to move forward, but it's comparable to dropping support for pencils because we have touchscreens, as pencils do not have built-in telemetry.

I feel your pain but I'm afraid there's not much that can be done.
I have not documented the Rust compiler versions used until recently, so it's probably a binary before 1.10.4 (the version that does not work).
Swyh-rs also uses a lot of the more recent Rust compiler features, so compiling the current source with an older compiler version is not an option, and the same goes for some dependencies...
