pipx Installation: New version available message (after new installation of latest version)

What happened?

After starting the GUI version I immediately receive a message of a new version (v0.0.0). See attached screenshot bolo.

It's also stating "Something went wrong calling https://api.github.com/reposb''/releases/latest. Check your internet connection." (I've a working internet connection).

Clicking on the Download button opens a URL to: https://api.github.com/reposb''/releases/latest
A html page appears with:

Something went wrong on your side. How did you install it?

My instance works just fine, also on a mac.

Hi @exislow , thanks for the excellent work and your reply.:

• In installed python 3.12 via:

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
brew install python@3.12

• After that I installed:
  pipx install --python /opt/homebrew/bin/python3.12 'tidal-dl-ng[gui]'

Okay, this is weird. This happens, because the pipx installation deletes the (pyproject.toml)[https://github.com/exislow/tidal-dl-ng/blob/master/pyproject.toml]

Does this problem still persists if you install it with pip3.12 install 'tidal-dl-ng[gui]'?

I do not know, why pipx does it like this. If somebody has a hint how to tell that pipx should include specific files, I would be glad.

Quick fix of your issue: Just download a already compiled version from the release page.

Hi @exislow , thanks for following up. I tried pip3.12 install 'tidal-dl-ng[gui]' but got an [error](error: externally-managed-environment).

I downloaded v0.26.6 (TIDAL-Downloader-NG_macos-arm64.zip) and installed in in my apps. After giving the permission to open it, it worked directly without the popup. Will the app update to newer versions?

If there is a newer version, the app will show you a dialogue asking you to do the update.

Excellent! I opened the app today and I saw the update screen. I downloaded the latest version and replaced the existing one with it. The app works great, thank you so much for this excellent work.
