I've been busy experimentally adding, on a local clone, support for mongo. Just added, much like the http source/tools code, the ability to fill in a filterPayload with optional support with options and sorting. It would allow for fetching data from a mongodb collection (read-only should more that enough for now). Would that be considered as an addition worthy for inclusion onto this repo? I.e. should I invest time to make this happen? It is also perfectly okay to say that is not the intention of this repository.

Are you referring to adding a mongoDb as source and tool? If yes, we do have an ongoing PR on adding MongoDB as a source #612.

@dennisg I have gone through your code and it looks good to me except we might need to update the naming standard to "MongoDB" instead "mongo". Could you please go through my code and see if we can work on same PR before we merge it in to main?

sorry @theshanbhag - didn't properly address you with your GitHub name in the previous comment. Also hope you understand my choice to create a new PR instead of rebasing onto yours; it's because of the recent changes in origin/main.

I'm more than welcome to work together on this PR with you. please, if you have improvements let me know, create PRs on
the source branch, whatever. My first thought was to get querying into main (is this good enough already? - we may be need some more tests ?) - after that insert, upsert and update ? let's discuss
