"RGBMatrix to Sequence Bug "purple"" → not an issue in the "RGBMatrix to sequence" logic. It's the behavior of blinder.js. If that behavior qualifies as a bug or not is yet to be determined.

It is not a bug, but an unintended use of the script. I have commented in the forum and refer to #1259 here for reference. Is the name misleading? A blinder with a physical 1x2 matrix is to be done by a strobe effect or a VC button with timing in my view.
The script is meant to simulate a halogen blinder in a reflector mirror as a matrix / bitmap effect, so it simulates the warmer light colors when not fully illuminated and that is where the color comes from.
