I have manually configured a daily (month-to-date) export for the FOCUS dataset. I expected it to trigger for this month for the few days so far and it did that. However, I was surprised to find that it also exported data for the month of March as well (in a separate execution). Why is this behavior occurring? I thought a daily export is only for the current month? Also if there is a better place to ask this question please let me know, thank you. |

You are correct. Data ingestion pipelines only get triggered when a manifest.json file is added or updated. The only reason it should have updated the previous month is if there was a new export or the manifest file was updated. Do you have managed exports configured? I think they run on the 2nd, 5th, and 19th of the month. Is it possible that Cost Management exports ran at the same time? I believe you can look at Data Factory to see the trigger for each of the runs. |

This explains the behavior I am seeing: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/tutorial-improved-exports?tabs=azure-portal#cost-export-runs-twice-a-day-for-the-first-five-days-of-the-month
