What happened?

idea plugin won't format javadoc. e.g. a single line javadoc for a field description is way more than 120 long. On format, it formats all the java code but won't wrap the long javadoc.

What did you want to happen?

should wrap lines by default, or at least make it optional/configurable.

I'm also very interested on this. Just switch to Palantir from Eclipse Formatter and code now looks great, but JavaDoc turned wild. I'm using Spotless and IntelliJ IDEA, also switching to Markdown comments in JDK 23. Would be great to have support for this!

For reference, this is pretty much already supported by the formatter, it just needs to be enabled in the IDE. I made a PR for this at the beginning of last year, see #986, but so far, none of the maintainers seem to have even taken a look at it? Not sure about the state of this project, but having support for formatting JavaDoc would be incredibly awesome. Right now I keep wasting time having to format docs manually.
