Describe the bug:
If you try to add a device by using it's hostname and the device is not online you get the following error:
Other Error: none

Steps to reproduce:
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to 'devices'
2. Click on 'plus'
3. add an invalid hostname
4. See error

Expected behavior:
you should see a better error.
