[Mod Idea] Show numbers on apps pinned or opened in the taskbar (LWin+Number hotkey indicator) #2425

Hello!

I’m not good at programming (and honestly don’t enjoy it 😅), so I kindly ask for the benevolence of you guys to consider this idea.

The request:
Show a small number overlay on each app pinned or opened in the taskbar to indicate the corresponding Win+Number shortcut.

Why?

In Windows, pressing LWIN+1 opens the first app on the taskbar (from left to right), LWIN+2 the second, and so on.

When there are only a few apps (up to 4–5), it’s easy to know which number corresponds to which app.

But when there are more apps, it becomes hard to guess which number corresponds to apps farther to the right, like, this app is the 7...or the 8?

It would be really helpful if a small number (1, 2, 3…) was visible on each button, so I don’t have to “guess” the shortcut.

I have some ideas for this implementation, or use a overlay to draw inside the button or something similar, or rename the app label to the number and forcefully resize it to fit (the user would need to enable the option to show taskbar labels), but this could have some problems if the same app is opened multiple times, so the overlay or a text draw inside the button is preffered? I don't know.
