"Know which tab is currently visible" not working

I am using the sample code found in the walkthrough HERE, but this is the output I get regardless of which sidebar menu item is selected. I have also tried the second version of the code for dynamically generating the sidebar menu and the result is the same...whichever menu item I select, there is no change in the "You've selected:".

I should note that it did seem to work for me a couple of days ago. I am still running R 4.4.2 until I get approval to install an update on my work machine.

I was able to use my personal computer with the most up-to-date R and replicated the issue. It is not specific to R version.

I can confirm that I had the same problem, which I was able to fix by rolling the shiny package back to v1.10.0

We're about to push a fix for this. If you could try with the release candidate from rstudio/shiny#4245 it would be helpful to know this solves your issue
