Is it important to ship electrum/scripts/ to users?

Can you please help me understand how the files in electrum/scripts/ are used? Are they scripts called by the GUI or the command line? Are they used as part of the testing infrastructure? Do they only exist for development purposes?

I am trying to understand if it is important to ship this directory to users in the Debian package.

They are standalone scripts that don't depend on each other and nothing depends on them. They use electrum as a python library, sometimes as a goal in itself, to showcase how to script something. A developer or power-user might find them interesting.

Neither the GUI nor the CLI references them in any way. It is not important to package it.

I guess we could add a readme.md in that directory to explain this.

I just finished packaging 4.6.2 for Debian, and I wanted to say thank you for the detailed release notes you produce. It made it easy for me to identify and understand the new dependencies, remove obsolete dependencies, update the Debian documentation regarding support for deprecated hardware wallets, and update the man page to reflect new command-line options.
