I like to Play around freely with several cases, setups and so on.
The only need I currently have is that the custom view support groups.
But I have a broader Idea which may could also be interesting.
It would be nice If custom view ignore the element (person, softwareSystem, container, etc.) And simply shows the dsl hierarchy.
In this case anything that has a child element will be showed as group and only the last one in hierarchy without child element is shown as an element.
If this setup works, an additional possibility could help in some cases. Because custom view renders the hierarchy only, an Error Icon on a rendered view could help understand some c4 errors. e.g. "Error: softwareSystem is not permitted as child of container, please choose either group or component"
In my case such an error message would help me more than the current Error message in the code editor.
(If the error Idea I catches your interest, may you could instead enhance the custom view create an error view which has a focus on visualize errors and propose solutions.)
