Sunnah.com API Key Request

Please tell us about yourself (include an email address):
My name is [ibragimov ibrohim] and my email address is [ibrohimovtv@gmail.com]. I am a developer working on Islamic educational applications.

Your purpose in using this API:
I am developing a web-based Hadith reader application that allows users to browse and study authentic Hadith collections. The application will display Hadith in both Arabic and English, with proper attribution and references. It's designed for educational purposes to help Muslims and those interested in Islamic studies access authentic Hadith literature in a user-friendly interface.

API rate limits:

  • Maximum requests per second: 5 requests per second
  • Maximum requests per day: 1000 requests per day

Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access?
Programmatic API access would be preferred as it allows for real-time data updates and ensures users always have access to the most current and verified Hadith database. However, I would also appreciate guidance on implementing proper caching to minimize API calls while maintaining data freshness.

What are the languages in which would you like hadith data?
I would like Hadith data in the following languages:

  • Arabic (original text)
  • English (translations)
  • Russian (русский)
  • Tajik (тоҷикӣ)
  • Uzbek (o'zbek)
  • Urdu
  • French
  • Spanish

These languages are essential for serving Muslim communities in Central Asia, Russia, and other regions where these languages are predominantly spoken.

What programming language will your API client be in?
The API client will be implemented in JavaScript/TypeScript, specifically using React for the frontend application. The application will make HTTP requests using the Fetch API with proper error handling and request management.
