Space characters before links are removed on render

All links in my markdown document have the space characters before them automatically removed when I open the editor (I use ctrl+shift+alt+m), and it's so annoying to add them back every time I edit the file.

So every link in the file changes from this:

Here is a link

To this:

Here is alink

Every. Single. One of them.
