Vacation Modes 25% Functions' purpose?

I just implemented the Vacation Mode example and all is working great! I'm having a hard time understanding what the purpose of the 25% function does. Below is the Function's code. Thanks for the help and information.

Just figured it out, It is basically an additional limiter to increase the randomness of how often the flow runs.

What does the set msg.reset node do in Step 2? Is there another node that set's/uses the msg in this flow that I'm not seeing?

So this looks like it removes the 24 hr timer. How are you tacking that now?

it's being tracked inside the events: state node, Home/Away

hmmm, for some reason I don't see that in my node from the flow I just imported in this thread. I also don't see the option to add it.
