Choosing the REPL for `inf elixir send *` Commands

I created a diagram to model the flows I wanted for these commands, and then based the functionality off of the diagram. The diagram doesn't follow any formal method such as UML, but hopefully it will help others figure out how the choice is being made, if they want to know:
