added padding to the search box so it matches the url/search bar

I can't reproduce that issue on Nightly. Here, they are already aligned. Do you have other tweaks in your userChrome.css? Also, what's your OS and Firefox version?

no, I don't have any other userchrome tweaks. im running firefox 95 on fedora 35, I also tested it with a new profile and the issue was still there, so it wasnt because of any other tweaks i've made.

I can't reproduce it in a fresh profile either (I'm also on Fedora 35 btw 😄). Can you try in Nightly please?

its an issue in nightly as well. i do have a fairly low resolution screen, im not sure if that could be the cause

I doubt it since I use a resolution of 1366x768 myself. I really don't see what's causing this issue on your config.
