To run this project locally, follow these steps:
First, clone the repository to your local machine:
git clone https://github.com/your-username/tweethub.git
cd tweethubCreate and activate a virtual environment to manage your dependencies:
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activatepython -m venv venv
venv\Scripts\activateInstall the required packages from the requirements.txt file:
pip install -r requirements.txtCreate a .env file in the root directory to store sensitive information like your Django secret key.
Example .env file:
SECRET_KEY=your-secret-key
DEBUG=True
ALLOWED_HOSTS=localhost,127.0.0.1
Run the database migrations to set up the database schema:
python manage.py migrateTo access the Django admin panel, you can create a superuser:
python manage.py createsuperuserStart the Django development server:
python manage.py runserverNow, open your browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:8000/ to access the project.
- Click on Create Tweet and fill in the details.
- You can also upload an image with the tweet.
- Submit the form, and your tweet will be live!
- Go to the list of tweets, and click the Edit or Delete buttons to manage your posts.
- Use the search bar on the home page to search tweets based on the content.
